Most common and efficient Engines are Diesel, these can also be operated by introducing up to 90% LPG, 70% CNG or even blended with Hydrogen.
It is imperative new Generator motors (that produce the Electricity) are designed to operate at a consistent speed, from around 850rpm~1'800rpm +/- 50rpm, over revving the generator will cause damage to delicate electronics.
Gensets (engine & generator) attracted a lot of interest from Australian farmers, industrial businesses, villages and overseas interests, all not happy with expensive electricity connection fees and ever increasing electricity rates.
Several regional/remote Farmers and Industrial compounds report the following Electricity supply charges;
- $1'500.00 per quarter for regional and remote supply and service charges.
- $0.25~$0.50 cents per kWh State Grid electricity charges.
These kWh charges alone make any Diesel engines with there proven fuel efficiency a viable option to be used in Gen-Set (power generation) systems.
All farmers we have spoken to were ready to purchase our engine to operate on either Diesel or Vegetable oil. Gen-Sets are widely use in both pumping water & power generation for their irrigation systems and power usage, where many large operations use several separate units.

Operational Fuel Cost & Savings Calculator:
Our fuel savings comparisons calculator shows the fuel and cost savings by comparing stationary diesel engines running cost, the calculator also shows the payback period using a bolt on OptiBlend Fuel exchange system that reduces the usage of Diesel by some 70% great savings where Natural gas is cheaper than Diesel, if using LPG on a stationary Generator you can substitute up to 90% LPG and 10% Diesel.

Natural Gas (NG) Fuel:
Any engine can be run on NG, as long as the compression is approx. 15:1. In Australia Natural gas meters measure gas used in units of m3, to calculate what is cost you per m3 you first need to look at your gas bill, say you only use 1m3 (Units) of NG, then multiply 37.98079 (Heating Value) then multiply 1.008720 (Conversion factor) this equates to 1m3 NG= 38.312 MJ. So 1m3 NG costs $0.03287MJ x 38.312= $1.26 per m3. Electricity 1kWh = 3.6 MJ
A Gigajoule (GJ) is a measure approximately equal to half a barrel 113.4kg (250 lbs) of oil, or 1 million BTU's, or 1000 cu ft of gas, or 28 m3 of gas. The energy content of gas supply in Australia can vary from 37 to 43 MJ per m3 depending on gas supply and processing between the wellhead and the customer.

Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) Fuel:
Unless a natural gas pipe line is running past your farm or property, then natural gas is unavailable!
The main expense for the supply of bulk LPG to a farmer or business will be the expense of purchasing a large service station size LPG tank, we have been told it costs approx. $20'000.00 to purchase & install one of these tanks on a farm, then you will be able to purchase Bulk LPG at more affordable price.
LPG Payback Period:
As a guideline it will cost in the vicinity of $20,000.00 to purchase and install a large commercial bulk LPG storage tank (seen at service stations) and few thousand dollars for a small Liquid LPG Injection system, the outlay and recovery period can easily be seen in the monthly/yearly savings calculator using a Diesel engine and an OptiBlend kit. NB: the savings calculated using a Revetec engine is based on assumption of 20% efficiency/savings over a standard fuel engine, as a general rule a standard diesel engine will only be 10% more efficient.

Revetec X4 engine:
The Revetec X4v2 petrol prototype engine was optimised to be most efficient at 2,000~3,000rpm. This engine was independently tested and at 2,000rpm the result was 207g/kW-h or 39.5% efficient, making it the world leader on petrol.
Diesel engines commonly give 10~15+% improved fuel efficiency over a petrol engine, our fuels cost comparison calculator consecutively uses our petrol engine test results, because our CCE technology is non fuel specific, we will soon prove that it will be the most efficient in the world running on diesel.

Optiblend™ system by Eden Energy: (Australian Diesel and Natural Gas bolt on conversion kit)
Background: Eden developed Optiblend™, an efficient dual fuel system that is capable of operating on diesel engines and displacing up to 70% of the diesel fuel with natural gas. If Hythane™ fuel (hydrogen enriched natural gas) is used in place of natural gas, the displacement of diesel fuel could be as high as 80%. The use of the natural gas will greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and, in places where natural gas is cheaper than diesel, will also reduce fuel costs. It has significant market potential particularly in the diesel-powered generator set (“genset”) market.
The OptiBlend system is made by Hythane Company is an innovative retrofit technology developed for Diesel generator sets.
What makes OptiBlend kits economical is that they displaces diesel by up to 70% with natural gas or other alternative fuels, without modifications to the internal components of an engine or the stock fuel management system. Certified Third Party Emissions Testing Results
Hythane Company collaborated in having the exhaust emissions tested from
one of its heavy duty OptiBlend© systems that had been installed on a large, modern diesel
genset that was also fitted with a diesel oxidation catalyst.
The results showed that various emissions from the engine, when it was operating in dual fuel
mode (ie whilst consuming both methane (natural gas) and diesel fuel), including oxides of
nitrogen (NOx), particulate matter, carbon dioxide (CO2), un-burnt non-methane hydrocarbons,
and carbon monoxide (CO) were all lowered compared with the level of emissions from the
same engine whilst running on diesel fuel alone.
These are the first independent tests of the comparative emissions that have been obtained
from an engine using an OptiBlend© dual fuel system and will provide a further competitive
advantage as growing global concern over the effects of the level of these emissions, translates
into stricter emissions regulations in the future.
